Two men have been arrested - one charged with attempted murder - after a man was found injured in a South Bank car park.

As reported the 33-year-old man was found by members of the public on Sunday, September 21, in the area near St Peter's Catholic Church, off Milbank Street at the junction of Middlesbrough Road. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Jamie Taylor, 36, of Coleton Gardens in Ingleby Barwick, was arrested and questioned in police custody before being charged with attempted murder. He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. He has been released on conditional bail.
