Police in the South West Region have arrested 23-year-old Madalitso Msuku in Blantyre for the theft of a Toyota Hiace minibus belonging to Mavuto Foster.

The green minibus was stolen on the night of September 16, 2025, after it had been parked overnight.

According to Deputy Public Relations Officer Beatrice Mikuwa, officers from the Anti-Motor Vehicle Theft Unit tracked down Msuku, who admitted to the theft and led investigators to Mangochi, where several dismantled parts of the vehicle—including the engine, gearbox, windscreens, radiator, and tyres—were recovered.

Msuku reportedly confessed to selling the parts for K3.2 million. At the time of his arrest, police recovered K600,000 in cash from him.
