HARRISBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — Pennsylvania officials are calling on the private sector for new ideas to improve the state's transportation systems.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) office of Public-Private Partnerships (P3) announced that it is accepting unsolicited proposals through Oct. 31. The program gives private companies the opportunity to submit projects that could enhance roads, bridges, rail, aviation, ports and other transportation services across the Commonwealth.

The October submission window applies to PennDOT-owned projects and infrastructure. Proposals may also address more efficient ways to manage existing services and programs.
