KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Knox Pride announced that Pride Fest 2025 and the parade have been cancelled due to safety concerns and because the group was unable to obtain liability insurance.

Knox Pride President John Camp said that the group had worked with the city to try to prevent this and that the city had been a great partner to them. However, the organization was unable, at the last minute, to secure liability insurance, he said.

"The other thing is: Safety is a huge concern right now for our community around the country, and very real thing in Knoxville," Camp said. He added that this had been difficult "this year especially."

He apologized for being unable to have the Pride Fest and encouraged people to attend Chattanooga Pride on Sunday.
