Laurentian University says its commitment to innovation and hands-on learning was on full display last month as two student-led robotics teams — Snobots and Roboparks — returned from the prestigious FIRA Roboworld Cup 2025 in Daegu, South Korea , with a collection of international awards and accolades.

Supported by the IAMGOLD President’s Innovation Fund for Strategic Investment, the teams competed in the HuroCup category , facing off against more than 40 teams from over 10 countries. Their performance not only showcased the high calibre of research and training at Laurentian but also set the stage for next year’s competition, which will be held in Markham, Ont., Laurentian said in a release.
