BATSON, Texas — Residents west of West Hardin High School remain without water Wednesday as outages and aging infrastructure continue to strain the West Hardin Water Supply Corporation.

The outage is the latest in a string of problems tied to the rural utility’s failing wells and equipment, forcing families in southwestern Hardin County to rely on bottled water distribution and endure ongoing boil water notices. Volunteer firefighters in Batson have been handing out bottled water this week to help ease the shortage.
