Someone walking out of a Langford shop with an unpaid buggy full of butter and paper towels turned out to be just too much to resist for the Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers on social media.

Known for cheeky posts, the organization shared an image of the Sept. 24 mid-morning shoplifting spree with a plea for the suspect to turn themselves in “before we all have to go another week with dry toast.”

“We’d say that we hope this message finds you well – however, leaving a local business … without paying for $300 worth of butter has us genuinely concerned right now. That’s not a snack run, that’s a full-blown cholesterol crisis,” Crime Stoppers post reads.

The shoplifter also left with two packs of paper towel.
