NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV) - Some nursing homes in northeast Nebraska are using artificial intelligence monitoring for senior living care.
It’s technology trying to prevent falls that could result in fatal injuries.
Throughout the halls at Heritage at Fountain Point in Norfolk, Nebraska, staff are constantly in residents’ rooms checking on their status and helping them move from different locations if they need assistance.
A beeping noise is also heard in the hallways, being used as an alert to staff, and it could be a notification to step in before a senior resident takes a fall.
It’s thanks to monitoring for safety risks through this device, AUGi, a newer AI tool for senior living homes. It’s mounted on the wall inside a resident’s room.
