The City of St. Albert has announced the passing of Cam MacKay, a former City Councillor who served from 2010 to 2017. MacKay left council after an unsuccessful run for mayor in 2017.
In honour of former Councillor MacKay, the flags of City Hall will be lowered to half-mast until sunset on October 5th.
Cam MacKay passed away on September 24th following a vehicle accident northeast of Edmonton. He was 49.
MacKay is survived by his daughter Kelsey, parents Donna and Cam, brother Arthur, ex-partner Lisa Saxby and partner Emilia Cadalina. A celebration of life will be held at the Memories Funeral home at 13403 St. Albert Trail on October 5 at 2 p.m..
In lieu of flowers, guests are asked to donate to the Second Chance Animal Rescue Society or the St. Albert Botanic Park.
