A member of the Little Compton Budget Committee tendered his resignation late last week only to rescind it four days later, after the committee’s chairman raised questions about whether officials were adhering to town charter rules regarding the naming of his successor to the non-partisan board.
Corey Soderlund ran unsuccessfully for the committee at the 2024 Financial Town Meeting but was later appointed following the resignation of D. Craig Curtis Jr., who won a seat in that same election by finishing ahead of him in the running.
In his resignation letter last week, Soderlund wrote that his departure would be effective Friday, Sept. 26.
