The Mt. Hope High School girls' soccer squad began the new week by upping its unbeaten run to seven after the Huskies dispatched visiting Smithfield, 2-0, in a Division I outing played at Roger Williams University Tuesday night, Sept. 30.

Maddie Butterworth and Emma Goglia scored the goals for the locals, both coming the second half, as Mt. Hope improved to 6-2-2 at the time.

Butterworth curled in a corner kick for her tally and Goglia completed a penalty kick for her's. Moira Ware needed to make just one save as she and the Huskies' defense posted the shutout.

Girls' volleyball

The MHHS girls' volleyball team's season-opening winning streak reached double figures following a 3-0 victory over host West Warwick in a Division II match Tuesday evening, Sept. 30.
