LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Mayor Craig Greenberg, Speed Museum leadership, and Kentucky First Lady Britainy Beshear cut the ribbon Wednesday morning to formally open the Speed Museum's new Art Park .

The three-acre park connects a portion of the University of Louisville campus to Third Street near Old Louisville.

The area is dotted with large sculptures, handpicked by the Speed's curator of contemporary art, Tyler Blackwell.

"The Speed is always trying to think of ways that we can invite more people to experience contemporary art and art in general," Blackwell said. "This is really an opportunity to invite the entire city to explore and learn."
