A new alcohol sales law takes effect Wednesday, affecting bars in downtown Kissimmee that wish to remain open past midnight.
Igor Baez Munoz operates Casa de Artisan by day, but behind that business is his outdoor restaurant, Pal Callejon. On Friday and Saturday nights, it’s a big party.
"This is the food, the music, the good ambiance over here," he said.
To keep that party going, Baez Munoz, like all bars in downtown Kissimmee, had to pay $250 for the new permit. It may seem like a small fee, but given the recent political and economic climate, business has not come as easily.
“With all of these things that happened with immigration, we lost a lot of clients,” said Baez-Munoz.
He hopes to recoup those losses in the coming weeks, believing things will get back to a normal state.
