Joint police operations resumed on Wednesday in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory as part of an ongoing investigation into what authorities contend are illegal marijuana grow operations.

An OPP spokesperson confirmed with The Intelligencer Wednesday police returned to the territory to continue a crackdown on farms deemed not legal within the Indigenous community.

The police action has the full support of the Tyendinaga Mohawk band council.

Tyendinaga Police Service confirmed in an online post it is working again with Ontario Provincial Police in a sweep of locations on the reserve similar to last week’s raids on farming operations when tens of thousands of marijuana plants were cut down and seized by authorities.
