LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault.

According to LPD, the assault was connected to Lincoln North Star High School’s Standard Response Protocol of “Secure” during lunch time on Wednesday.

In a message to North Star families, Principal Megan Kroll said all students, faculty and staff were brought inside the building while LPD handled the situation in the area.

“Secure means there is something happening outside of the school,” Kroll said. “Everyone was brought inside the building and entrances were locked and monitored. Teaching and learning, along with movement inside the building, happened as normal.”
