SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are feeling pretty good after winning two straight games, and a big reason for their improvement has been their defense.
Against Arkansas, the Irish held the Razorbacks to just 13 points in their blowout win . It was their best defensive performance by several scores this season.
Notre Dame has had several younger players step up on that side of the ball, especially in the secondary. Fort Wayne native and true freshman Tae Johnson is starting at safety while fellow freshman and Indianapolis native Mark Zackery has been filling in at corner.
