Merrillville-based White Lodging plans to expand to the iconic Fort Worth Stockyards in Texas.
The hospitality company, which has developed hotels and restaurants around the country, acquired a 3.5-acre parcel in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards, one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, the country's fourth largest metropolitan area.
White Lodging is looking at building a hotel and restaurant at the site at 400 E. Exchange Ave. It's interested in pursuing a larger mixed-use development in the hub of cowboy culture, where cattle are marched through the streets in front of spectators every day.
