COLUMBIA — Veterans United and Roc Solid Foundation built and donated six outdoor play sets this week to the families of children battling cancer as part of Roc Solid's "Play It Forward" program.

In addition to the six outdoor play sets, the two organizations are donating another four indoor playhouses to other families that can't house the outdoor sets.

Veterans United employees built the play sets on Tuesday, and Veterans United held a ceremony Wednesday morning to present them to some of the families as a surprise for the children.

The ceremony featured vendors, other nonprofits, and organizations that fight childhood cancer.
