JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. —

Jeffersonville officially welcomed its new police chief on Monday as Scott McVoy was sworn in during a ceremony attended by city leaders, officers, and community members.

McVoy, who has served the department for over a decade, steps into the role with a focus on efficiency, transparency and communication.

McVoy previously served as assistant chief and then interim chief after former Chief Kenny Kavanaugh stepped down. He said he intends to keep the public informed about the department’s work, leveraging technology to accomplish that goal.
