Several new laws went into effect on October 1 st , 2025. One of them deals with immigrants.SB53 has a few components, one deals with what police do when they lawfully pull you over. If you don't have documentation like a driver’s license or passport proving you're in the country legally, they are now required to call Immigration and Customs Enforcement. So, what may have started out as a broken taillight or speeding could lead to deportation.
