SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Housing advocates in Western Massachusetts are calling for assistance following the release of a comprehensive housing study covering the region's four counties.

The study, titled "Building Homes. Building Futures," was conducted by Way Finders and the UMass Donahue Institute to assess housing demand, needs, and impacts across Berkshire, Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden Counties. The study suggests that diverse needs, rather than demographic factors, drive the housing crisis in western Massachusetts.
