LOUISVILLE, Ky. — No injuries have been reported after an explosion at a chemical plant in a west Louisville industrial zone.

MetroSafe confirmed it received a report of an explosion at a chemical plant in the 4400 block of Bells Lane in Rubbertown.

A LENSAlert said there was a "hazardous materials incident."

Officials said a fire broke out inside Carbide Industries. The company says it's the largest producer of calcium carbide in North America.

The cause and origin of the fire has not been determined and is part of the investigation.
