CHICOPEE — The life and career of a Chicopee man who spent more than four decades in the military is on display at the Chicopee Public Library.

Chester “Chet” E. Gorski, of Chicopee, was a decorated veteran of the Massachusetts Army National Guard until he retired in 1991.

“His service and sacrifice are remembered as a testament to his character and patriotism,” according to a statement from the Polish Center of Discovery and Learning, of which Gorski was a longtime supporter and board member.
