The Dallas Police Department (DPD) rolled out the new gunshot detection system in March. Communities across the city hope to see it in their neighborhoods.

For the past five years, a plaguing problem just outside the Villas of Prairie Creek neighborhood in Dallas has now come to a breaking point.

"It’s damaged people's properties and we just don't want someone to get hurt or worse die from a gunshot," Andi Guevara said.

Bullets have landed in bedrooms, living room walls, pierced through fences and sides of homes.
