FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Big Fresno Fair is ready to welcome you for its 142nd year!
"It is the place where families come together and create memories," Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer said.
Wednesday morning, local leaders and the Big Fresno Fair board members shared passionate words about the rich tradition of the fair, highlighting the hard work of every single person involved, doing their best to make every year special.
The ceremony paid tribute to the late John Harris, a pioneer of the Big Fresno Fair who passed away this past July.
A plaque was presented in his honor, keeping his legacy alive. Harris was instrumental in bringing horse racing to Fresno, which will not be happening this year.
