OREGON, USA — Leaders in Oregon and Washington spoke out Wednesday about the government shutdown, addressing their fellow Democrats’ demands to extend Obamacare subsidies before they expire at the end of the year to ensure health care funding continues and to avoid premiums growing.

Washington Sen. Patty Murray and Oregon Sen. Jeff Merkley both made it clear that Democrats are going to stand strong and demand the action they are looking for from Republicans.

However, in the meantime, this also means furloughs, federal workers working unpaid, and some reduced services as the shutdown continues.
