CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - The City of Carbondale has been awarded $1,989,063 in Rebuild Illinois grants to repave three traffic corridors.

The grant will pay for 100% of the cost to repave three streets:

W. College Street from S. Forest Avenue to S. University Avenue

W. Cherry Street from S. Oakland Avenue to S. Illinois Avenue

Poplar Street from W. Mill Street to W. Oak Street

“This investment is a significant improvement for our neighborhoods and everyone who travels through Carbondale,” said City Manager Stan Reno. “By fully funding these repaving projects, the State is helping us improve safety, enhance our roadways, and support the quality of life for our residents and visitors."

The grants require no funding from Carbondale.
