BALDWIN, La. (KLFY) -- Harold Logerman Sr. has spent his entire life in Baldwin, where he has become a well-known figure in the community.
Born and raised in Baldwin, Logerman is one of eight siblings, with a family consisting of one girl and seven boys. Throughout his life, he has worked various jobs, including cutting wood in the swamp with his father and brother, and later at a sugar mill.
"He said you can do it. I said well if you say I can do, then I'm going to do," Logerman said.
Logerman's early days involved working in the swamp, where he and his brother had to build their own boats to navigate the waters.

"I had a boat, and my brother had a boat," he said. "We had to make the boat before we can use it."
