HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Marshall University is sponsoring an event to train people how to report severe weather.
The National Weather Service (NWS) offered SKYWARN storm spotter training at the university -- teaching people about storm basics, spotting techniques, and safety protocols for a variety of severe weather conditions.
SKYWARN is a program with the NWS where volunteers help provide reports that can potentially save property and lives in their communities.
Those who completed the training earned their own spotter ID card.
