(10/1 UPDATE): The Allamakee County Sheriff's Office is investigating the use of heavy equipment that led to a man's death on Tuesday.

An initial investigation determined multiple rocks rolled down the hill from a nearby property above the residence in question.

RURAL ALLAMAKEE COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) - A homeowner in rural Allamakee County has died following a landslide on Tuesday morning.

Allamakee County Sheriff's Office arrived at a home along Red Oak Drive after getting a call that a hill slide had collapsed at a nearby property. They later found a 76-year-old man had died after being hit by a rock that crashed into the residence.
