HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A new statewide program aims to help Hawaii residents become more internet savvy.
Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke announced the launch of the state’s Digital Navigator program on Wednesday.
It’s part of her Connect Kakou initiative, and offers Hawaii residents one-on-one computer training through the state library system through the nonprofit Mapunawai, which focuses on digital equity and community-centered technology programs.
“The most important thing is the know-how. And that’s why this digital navigator program is so important,” Lt. Gov. Luke said. “It’s teaching people how to get on the internet and have the confidence in using the internet."
The program will be available at these five public libraries starting Monday, Oct. 6:
