The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has postponed proposed alterations to the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) until a review of the eligibility and assessment process is finalised. The Minister for Social Security and Disability, Sir Stephen Timms, will collaborate with disabled groups and charities on the review, which is anticipated to be concluded by next Autumn.

The DWP has previously said that over 1,000 new PIP awards are being granted daily, with the most recent figures indicating that there are now more than 3.8 million recipients in England and Wales receiving between £29.20 and £187.45 each week.
