The internet would have you believe a style war is being waged between Gen Zs and millennials right now: generations torn apart by their diverging opinions on sock length, hair partings and skinny jeans. Waistbands have become a key battleground, with one group becoming synonymous with a high-rise fit, and their junior counterparts a hip-grazing low-rise.

Still, a key skirt trend emerging on the runways might just see preconceptions around who a low waistband is for disappear once and for all.
