SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WNCN) — The names of the three people killed in the mass shooting Saturday night in Southport were released by the city Wednesday afternoon.
According to the City of Southport, 64-year-old Joy Rogers of Southport; 56-year-old Michael Durbin of Galena, OH; and 36-year-old Solomon Banjo of Charlottesville, VA were killed in the shooting.
Rogers' family provided the following statement to CBS 17:
"Joy was a devoted wife to her husband and a loving mother of three. Born and raised in California, she and her family moved to Southport just a year ago to enjoy their retirement. In that short time, she touched countless lives in her community. Joy loved Jesus deeply, and because of that, she loved others deeply.
