After splitting the first two games, the Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Tigers will battle in Game 3 of their AL Wild Card series. The winner, along with the Yankees vs. Red Sox winner, will advance to the American League Division Series (ALDS), starting on October 4.

The Guardians, who are without David Fry, kept their season alive with a big eighth inning in Game 2. With the score tied 1-1, Cleveland put together a five-run outburst to take control. Brayan Rocchio led off the inning with a solo homer, and Bo Naylor followed with a three-run blast, his first postseason home run. Daniel Schneemann also chipped in with an RBI double in that inning.
