Head's up, you probably don't want to chug Woodford Reserve Distillery 's newest high-proof whiskey.
On Thursday, the Versailles-based distillery announced the release of the brand's highest-ever proof rye whiskey called Barrel Strength Rye.
The limited-edition whiskey comes in at 125.1 proof or 62.55 ABV.
That's compared to Woodford Reserve's standard rye, which sits at 45.2 ABV.
To craft this new expression, Woodford Reserve's Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall used a pre-Prohibition style mash bill of 53% rye, the same mash bill as Woodford Reserve Rye. However, McCall bottled it at the strength of the collective batch of barrels, which was 125.1.
