DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEVV) — The Daviess County community is mourning the loss of a retired deputy.

Kenneth "Wayne" Burns served in the military and with the Detention Center for 22 years.

He is remembered as a humble and honorable man who was well respected by all.

Funeral services for Deputy Burns will take place on Monday, October 6th.

He was 65 years old and an Owensboro native.
