Golden Valley Electric Association has been examining a rate case past several months as it considers how to adjust its rates for the next five years.
GVEA board treasurer David Messier said the utility will not submit a change for its simplified rate filing it will submit to the Regulatory Commission of Alaska.
Such filings enable electricity co-ops to adjust their rates quarterly, but only by up to 20% in any three years.
“We are eligible to increase or decrease rates through a simplified rate filing,” Messier said during a Tuesday board meeting.
Messier said the recommendation from GVEA’s staff was to “not seek any increase with our simplified rate filing, but to file it for informational purposes for our rate study.”
