ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) - A person was rescued from a car that went into the Rock River Wednesday night.
Rock Island firefighters said a car went off the road near the U.S. 92 bridge over the Rock River and went into the water, according to a Facebook post .
Officials said crews rescued one person from the car, and they were uninjured.
Traffic came to a standstill around 8:50 p.m. due to the large police and fire presence blocking the roadway on IL-92, near the Centennial Expressway, a TV6 crew on-scene could see.
Around 9 p.m., KWQC could see crews pulling a vehicle out of the river near the area.
