On September 27, Fort Saskatchewan RCMP were alerted to a robbery that had occurred the night before within the city.

The victim was out for a walk with a friend when he was forced into a vehicle by a male who was known by the victim. The victim was then taken to an unknown location where he was forced at gunpoint to transfer money into the male’s account.

On September 28, the accused male involved in the robbery went to the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP detachment to turn himself in.

The 16-year-old Edmonton resident has been charged with pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, uttering threats against a person, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, kidnapping with a firearm and robbery with a firearm.

The youth was remanded into custody following a release
