CALHOUN COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- Amazon announced the opening of a new delivery station in Oxford, creating up to 70 full and part-time jobs.

The new delivery station is located in the Oxford South Industrial Park and will work to increase the speed of deliveries around the area.

"As Amazon continues to invest in the economic growth of Alabama, we are excited to contribute to that growth with the launch of our newest delivery station in the state,” said Deborah Massie, Economic Development Manager for Amazon. "Our commitment to driving economic growth and creating high-quality jobs in rural communities is exemplified with the launch of this facility. We're grateful for the partnership and support from the Calhoun County EDC, Mayor Alton Craft and the city of Oxford.”
