Early in the morning of September 29, Parkland and Enoch RCMP responded to a complaint of a stolen skid steer that was being tracked by GPS by the owners. The vehicle was on the move near Range Road 271 and Highway 16A near Enoch.
Police located the skid steer on a large flatbed trailer that was being towed by a stolen GMC pickup truck. Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the occupant for a number of criminal offences.
46-year-old Parkland County resident Craig Barton was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, breach of probation order and breach of release order.
Barton appeared in court on October 1.
The total value of the recovered stolen property totaled to over $150,000.
