Between September 9th and 11th, Leduc RCMP executed five search warrants in Leduc and Calmar with the assistance of the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT)’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit.

Police seized multiple items and arrested and charged two individuals.

22-year-old Leduc resident Taylor Poitras has been charged with accessing, transmitting and possessing child pornography. A second individual was charged, but their identity has not been released due to their age.

Additionally, a third individual was charged, but is now deceased and will not be named. The death has not been deemed as criminal.

The two alive individuals were taken before a Justice of the Peace and released with conditions until their court dates. One incident is still under investigation pending a fore
