EATON RAPIDS, Mich. (WILX) - There’s an Air Stream takeover in Eaton Rapids this weekend. Starting Thursday, 100 Air Stream travel trailers will begin setting up shop on Main Street for a weekend campout.

The Urban Air, Wake Up Downtown event — which draws thousands of tourists — is back for the first time since 2019 after being canceled in the midst of the pandemic.

Air Streams have been around for nearly a century, rising in popularity through the mid-1900s. The iconic original, rounded aluminum design is still made today.

This year’s event runs through Sunday, featuring dozens of events for campers and local residents - even those who don’t have Air Streams. That includes Airstream decorating contests, an art fair, food trucks, beer tents, live music and more.
