Organized by the Yellowknife Multisport Club, it was the first competitive run of its kind in the NWT.
Mike Lee, one of the organizers of the inaugural event, said they had 28 confirmed runners at Saturday’s 8 a.m. start line who were prepared to run the 6.7-kilometer-long trail at the Yellowknife Ski Club repeatedly, for as long as they could within 24 hours.
“Participants have to start it at the top of every hour and finish it in under an hour,” Lee said.
“So they can walk, run, jog, roll, jump, whatever, as long as they're done in an hour, any time up to the next hour.
