NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut State Police will have more troopers in areas around synagogues, venues and communities with large Jewish populations in response to a terrorist attack outside of a synagogue in Manchester, England, on Thursday.

Two people were killed and three others were seriously wounded on Thursday at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue. The suspect was also killed.

The attack took place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar.

Connecticut State Police stated that while there is no known threat to people in Connecticut, the agency deployed additional resources to areas near synagogues, venues and communities with significant Jewish populations.
