AUSTIN, Minn.- The Austin Public School Board held a special meeting at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2 to accept an employee resignation.

The subject of the meeting, a Language Arts teacher, had received pushback on social media after making comments about the death of Charlie Kirk.

She had allegedly posted about Kirk's shooting saying that:

"I don't hate that he died. I don't hate the way that he died."

An employee at the district superintendent's office said the district cannot comment on the reasons for her resignation because of it being a private personnel issue.
