PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A Portland man was sentenced in Clackamas County after stealing a Ford Mustang from a car dealership and leading police on a chase in January.

The Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office announced that 37-year-old Jayairus Joshua Johnson was sentenced to two years in prison on September 26.

A Clackamas County jury deliberated for about 15 minutes before finding Johnson guilty of possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful use of a vehicle, attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving and recklessly endangering another person.

The case goes back to January 6, 2025, when Johnson visited Diplomat Motors car dealership and looked at several expensive cars, authorities said.
