GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - Xcel Energy announced its crews will perform natural gas construction on a well-travelled road in Grand Junction that will impact traffic beginning Monday, Oct. 6.

Crews will work on a gas line along 25 Road, affecting intersections at Patterson Road, Blichmann Avenue and F 1/2 Road. The construction will create traffic restrictions during the project.

The road will be fully closed, and drivers should expect delays, according to Xcel. The project will take around eight to 10 weeks to complete.

No natural gas outages are expected.

Xcel stated it is completing this work before the City of Grand Junction starts its Four Canyons Parkway Project. The project will add a new roadway and realign current intersections in the area.
