HOUSTON (KIAH) — The Houston Public Library will host a Hispanic Heritage Festival as the area continues to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

The festival will be at the Downtown Houston Central Library at 550 McKinney Street on Saturday, Oct. 11 from noon to 7 p.m. Admission is free for the whole family.

This all-day cultural celebration honors the history, traditions, and contributions of the Hispanic and Latin American communities. The festival is designed to bring families together through music, art, food, education, and storytelling, with programming for all ages.

There will be an opening ceremony with a parade of flags of Latin countries, a cultural showcase with traditional dances and live music, a youth and family zone and a main stage concert featuring Houston’s leading Latin
